Hi! I'm Ian.
I'm passionate about research design and responsible data analysis, and I'm interested in how humans use and think about technology. I really enjoy the process of determining what should be measured (and how to measure it). I'm also interested in ensuring that algorithms do more than replicate existing systemic bias.
Other topics I have researched and written on include healthcare policy, the working-class in Victorian England, disability rights, and the future of autism employment programs.
I'm working on a project to collect information about autistic people's experiences finding and keeping jobs, and to evaluate autism employment programs. You can read more about that (and participate!) here.
